Welcome to the website for the Solution Focused Institute (SFI).

SFI was founded by Dr. Linda Metcalf and Elliott Connie to provide trainings to mental health professionals in schools and agencies on how to use solution focused ideas to improve their work with clients as well as productivity in the office setting.

The 1st Annual SFI Solution Focused Fall Training Series

This four day event is designed to give first time learners or those interested in expanding heir skills an intense learning experience of Solution Focused Therapy. Dr. Linda Metcalf, Dr. Sara Smock, and Elliott Connie will provide information on the solution focused approach by providing dynamic lectures, interactive exercises, live session demonstrations, and supervision. Attendees will be able to experience SFT through working with actual clients while the instructors and fellow classmates form a reflecting team behind a one way mirror.

SFI staff trains at BRIEF!

We practice what we teach! One can never know enough or learn enough about SFT. This summer, Linda Metcalf and Elliott Connie accompanied 23 graduate students from Texas Wesleyan University to London to hear Harvey Ratner and Evan George at BRIEF Therapy Practice. We all came back inspired and ready to work.  SFI staff plans on making this trip annually to learn and develop new ideas for our institute.
